HOW TO LOCK YOUR PC USING A USB DRIVE.

Security is a very serious issue which is not to be taken lightly especially when it comes to our personal belongings. Even in the computer world, security is still been given priority that's why encryption of files is possible and advisable. Nobody wants his private details to be made public, i guess that’s why it's called Private details.

Do you know that you can now lock your PC using just your UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS (U.S.B)? You might be wondering how possible this is but it is indeed possible. Locking of your PERSONAL COMPUTER (PC) can be done in two ways;

1.     Using SYSKEY (an inbuilt windows software).

2.     Using PREDATOR (an external software). 

HOW TO UNLOCK YOUR PC WITH SYSKEY.

Follow the steps below to find out how to unlock your Personal Computer (PC) with SYSKEY

• Ensure you connect your USB or PENDRIVE to your PC.
• Go to START and then in the search bar, type syskey and the select it.
• After you select it, an encryption dialogue box will be displayed. Ensure you enable it and select update.
• At this point, you can either decide to make use of PASSWORD STARTUP or SYSTEM GENERATED PASSWORD.
• Choose the System Generated Password and then select store startup key on the floppy disk.
• Enter your desired password and that’s it for those who are making use of Syskey.

HOW TO UNLOCK YOUR PC WITH PREDATOR.

For those who prefer to use this method should follow the steps below;

• You need to download the software and install it in your PC. Download Predator here.
• Next, launch Predator in your PC.
• Insert a USB Flash drive into your PC.
• Once inserted, a dialogue box will pop up requesting you to insert a password.
• Create a password with the flash drive and then select ok.
• Now, eject the USB flash drive from the PC.
• After passing through the above steps you are done. Whenever you want to unlock it, just insert the USB flash drive into the PC and the same password you set to unlock it.
