Sometimes we get bored of making use of a PC having a particular OS (Operating
System) for a long period of time because we get used to its UI (User
Interface). Or other times, we get bored with the software available for a
particular OS and wish to try something new. The orthodox way of solving this
problem is to get a new PC having a different OS, which cost money and not
everybody can afford that.
You don’t really have to buy another PC in order to enjoy a different
user experience rather all you need to do is to install the OS of your choice
on your PC alongside your present OS. This is a simple and cost effective means
of having different user experiences on the same PC.
HOW TO INSTALL MULTIPLE OS ON
YOUR PC.
In order to be able to enjoy the luxury of more than one Operating
System on your PC, just carefully follow the steps below:
>>Install your first OS on your PC. If you already have an OS on
your PC, then skip this step.
>>Next, you need to create a new partition for your second OS to
be installed. If you don’t know how to do that, then read this;
>>Insert your CD Rom or
your Flash drive containing the
second OS you wish to dual boot alongside your current OS.
>>Reboot your device and after the logo of the manufacturer
appears, enter the BIOS menu by
pressing F1 or any other key
depending on the PC in use.
>>Go to your BOOTLOADER
and select the device you wish to boot from (either your flash drive, CD Rom or
any other external device).
>>Select the new partition
you created as the installation destination.
>>Start installing the new Operating System.
If you can’t see the OS you installed when you boot your PC, then you
will need to install EasyBCD and follow the steps below:
>>Install and run the software.
>>Select EDIT BOOT LOADER and
a list of all the OS on your PC will be displayed. You should be able to see
the OS you just installed.
>>Select the OS and add it to the BOOT OPTIONS. Here, you can also set an OS as your default OS, select countdown time before default selection and even remove or add an OS to the boot options.
>>Save and reboot your PC. You should be able to
see your Operating system now.
NOTE:
You can’t boot more than one OS at a time. In order to access the other
OS you will need to reboot your PC and then boot your desired OS.
IF you wish to uninstall any of the OS at any time, all you need to do
is to boot the OS you wish to keep, then go to your PC’s DISK MANAGEMENT and format the partition of the one you do not wish
to keep.
If you encounter any error while doing this, let us know in the comment
section below and we will guide you through it.
