HOW TO HIDE FOLDERS AND FILES ON YOUR MAC


Privacy is of utmost importance and can never be over emphasized. Most people prefer keeping their files and folders on the their Mac safe from prying eyes and ensure that their contents are confidential. There are different ways through which you can keep your files and folders safe and secure on your Mac but am going to be giving you one of those methods been used.

HOW TO HIDE A FOLDER OR A FILE ON MAC

In order to hide a folder or file on your Mac just follow the steps below:
>>Launch the Command line for Mac

>>Enter the following commands chflags hidden /path/to/file-or-folder. Replace /path/to/folder with the folder you want to hide.
Example: Chflags hidden /users/ugoxy/Desktop/Nice pics. The folder/File will automatically disappear.

HOW TO MAKE THE FOLDER/FILE VISIBLE
>>Launch the Command line for Mac

>>Enter the following commands chflags nohidden /path/to/file-or-folder. Replace /path/to/folder with the folder you want to make visible.
Example: Chflags nohidden /users/ugoxy/Desktop/Nice pics. The folder/File will automatically become visible.

NOTE: There are various methods software for Mac for hiding folders and files but the above method is the default method and requires no third party software.
