HOW TO HIDE FOLDERS ON YOUR WINDOWS PC.

Privacy is of utmost importance and can never be over emphasized. Most people prefer keeping their files and folders on the their PC safe from prying eyes and ensure that their contents are confidential. There are different ways through which you can keep your files and folders safe and secure on your windows PC but am going to be giving you the two main methods been used.

In order to hide/make a folder invisible on your Windows just follow the steps below.

HOW TO HIDE A FOLDER ON YOUR WINDOWS PC.

There are mainly two methods which can be used to hide folders on windows PC and they are as follows:

METHOD #1: FROM FOLDER PROPERTIES.

This method is usually employed if you just need to tuck some files away from prying eyes.  This won't really hide files from someone who knows what they're doing, but at least it will make them invisible so people don't stumble across them. This can also be referred to as the digital equivalent of hiding things under your mattress.

HOW TO HIDE FOLDERS FROM FOLDER PROPERTIES.

>>Go to File Manager.

>>Select the folder you wish to make invisible,

>>Right Click on the folder and select Properties.

>>Select Hidden.

>>And then click OK.

>>Select the option you want and click OK. As you click OK, the folder will automatically disappear.

TO VIEW HIDDEN FILES/FOLDERS.

>>Go to Control Panel >>Personalisation and Appearance >> Folder >> Folder Options >> View >> Advance Settings.

>>Select Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives and then click OK. Your hidden folders will now be made visible. But to stop it from being invisible just go to the Folder Properties and uncheck the check box for Hidden.

METHOD #2: USING COMMAND PROMPT.

This is a more advanced and secure method used to make windows PC folders invisible. In order for your hidden files to be discovered, the person has to be technically inclined i.e have an in dept knowledge on the functionality of windows PC. 

In order to hide your folders using command prompt, just follow the steps below.

HOW TO HIDE FOLDERS ON YOUR WINDOWS PC USING COMMAND PROMPT.

>>Launch Command Prompt

>>Go to the directory that contains the folder you wish to hide in the command prompt terminal.

>>Enter the following command in the command prompt terminal Attrib +h +s +r followed by the folder name and hit Enter.

Example: Attrib +h +s +r Folder Name. And the file will automatically become invisible.

HOW TO MAKE THE FOLDER VISIBLE.

>>Launch Command Prompt

>>Go to the directory that contains the folder you wish to make visible in the command prompt terminal.

>>Enter the following command in the command prompt terminal Attrib -h -s -r followed by the folder name and hit Enter.

Example: Attrib -h -s -r Folder Name. And the file will automatically become visible.

NOTE: There are various software available online which can be used to hide PC folders but the above methods are the default methods which require no third party software.
